Press Release Body = The course record at the Lakelands Golf Club on Queensland's
Gold Coast was recently broken by local golf professional and owner and managing
director of golf equipment manufacturing company Perfectstroke. In the pro am open
tournament held at the Lakelands club each Wednesday Mark Officer shot a round of 64
which included eight birdies and an eagle. Second place went to Rodger Davis, a
former Australian and European Tour winner who shot 68 in the morning field. Davis
has been a dominant force on the Australian Seniors Tour having recently defending
his Queensland Seniors Open title as well as winning numerous other events.
Mark Officer was a former tournament player who played the Australian and Asian
tours throughout the 1980's and 90's and since retiring from tournament play has
been involved with international golf schools as well as setting up a golf training
aids and manufacturing company. Perfectstroke manufactures a number of putting
improvement devices including the Perfectstroke Putting Aid, the Channel Mirror and
the Perfectstroke Putting Mirror. Perfectstroke also makes a number of swing
training aids such as the Clubface Assistant and the Perfectplane Heavyiron and
Officer credits their use as part of the reason for his recent success. " I teach
and train a number of aspiring players and also do some training of my own with them
and using the Clubface Assistant and Heavyiron with the Leaderboard recently seems
to be paying off." Officer said. The Leaderboard is one of the hottest training aids
available in golf at the moment with a number of the top players on the PGA Tour
using and endorsing the product.
"I recently shot some footage for use at the upcoming PGA Merchandise Show in Las
Vegas and that seems to have helped my putting also". Officer reffering to using the
Perfectstroke Putting Aid and the SAM Puttlab system to modify and improve the
putting stroke. "I had 23 putts in that round and it seemed that anything that I
missed lipped or burnt the hole as well". Lakelands Golf Club General Manager and
golf professional Trent Scaysbrook played with Officer on the day he recorded the
new low mark and said the sore could easily have been much lower. "Mark played a
great round of golf which featured great iron play with long and accurate driving
and superb putting. Aside from a couple of mental lapses which resulted in bogies he
could have been looking at bettering Scott Gardiner's mark by a few more".
Scaysbrook said. Scott Gardiner is currently playing the Nationwide Tour and is in
21st place on the money rankings and he shot 65 around the Lakelands layout last
year. A who's who of professional golf has played in the Lakelands Open since it's
inception 3 years ago in which pros and amateurs play for prizes and a small purse
weekly. For further details on golf training aids and instruction go to the
